Many individuals seek psychoeducational evaluations in order to obtain accommodations (e.g., extended time) for standardized testing. The College Board requires a recent evaluation that documents an individual’s needs for requested testing accommodations and any relevant diagnoses. These evaluations include the collection of background information from the parent, review of existing accommodations, behavioral observations, direct testing of cognitive processes, academic, socio-emotional functioning, and additional information from parents and teachers. We follow the guidelines set forth by the College Board when considering which tests to administer. All the information is then integrated into diagnostic conclusions, and recommendations for needed accommodations follow from these conclusions.
