Gifted testing is an evaluation conducted to examine the child’s cognitive abilities and determine eligibility for gifted placement in a public or private school. It includes a School Board-approved measure of intelligence, which provides an IQ score. We generally use the WISC-V, which is the most widely used and probably the most widely accepted IQ test. We will at times use another IQ test (e.g., DAS-II). These are short evaluations that include a brief background history and an IQ test.
